Olaf,
What a nice poem indeed...if I didn't knew you better I'd certainly think you have been drinking some Belgian Owl ;-) Nice and surprising top 3 you shared with us.
So, here's my top 3. It's all about the watches itself, no value or rarity taking into account;
1. Heuer Monaco Ref.1533G. For the obvious reason this is the watch that triggered the Heuer fire inside me...got it from my parents shop when I was 20 years old...it was lying in the old stock...and besides that THE most beautifull Monaco of all (my own humble opinion of course). I can vividly remember these cal.15 with grey dials were absolutely not much appreciated, let's say 6 or 7 years ago...they gained a lot of interest, especially in the last 3 years. It's always been MY Monaco ;-) Love to wear this one on the MK1 bracelet...this particular reference must be seen in the metal to be completely appreciated for sure. Nothing comes close to this one...
2. My Jaeger LeCoultre Tribute to Deep Sea. Perfect looks, size, precision movement and equipped with a functional complication as well. Only one thing could be an improvement on this watch...adding a date complication. This watch is value for money!
3. Well...my first two choices are firm and they will not change at all...never. To add a third watch I really have to force myself and I would not be convinced/determined enough to add one more watch to this list. So, the 1533G and the JLC Tribute to Deep Sea are enough for me to have a happy watch-life...BUT of course if I have to add another watch to the list...I'll be so free to add 2. Making a choice between those 2 is not possible for me...let me be clear...again the 1533G and JLC will remain with me at all times...all the rest of my watches is for sale if you want...or available when I'm "in the mood" or need the cash. Here they come...a 1st.Execution 2446 Heuer Autavia and my beloved Heuer Autavia 2446cSN. Again, I do not opt for these for their rarity/value...but because they are really "speaking" to me ;-)
Looking forward to your TOP-lists gentlemen! Here will follow some pictures I took yesterday evening...
All the best,
abel.
