This one has been difficult for me, not least because I picked up a new watch last night , so nothing else has yet got a look in.
So here they are :-
1) Rolex Submariner 16808.
This one is on my list for two reasons, firstly it looks amazing, and a really nice example of an older gold sub. Secondly is for sentimental reasons, my wedding, birth of both my children all have had this watch nearby, plus other time I was scammed out of her but I got her back, and it has stayed firmly in family since. I'd like to think it will be the one watch I would pass down to my little boy some day
2) Heuer 2446c GMT
This watch IMHO has to be be right up there with the most beautiful Heuers. The case shape, size, the bezel colour, the white sub dials, even down to the hour and minute hand having the red line running all the way through. I know mine has incorrect pushers, but I can live with it, change them if I really wanted to, just need to find the correct ones first!
It's just a real beautiful,balanced watch.
3) Panerai 176
The third was a tough call, but this has made the final place on several factors, it's simple- tells the time and that's it, I like that about it. The sandwich dial is far far better than painted indices on the Panerai's. It is quite a big chunky bit of kit that I am quite happy to use for just about anything, the Rolex is special occasions only, the Heuer I pick and choose when I wear that more, but the Panerai is probably my go to watch for general wear or messing around with the kids, it takes a few knocks and scratches, but that's ok, it's been around a while.
And that's it, whether it would be the same in six months or so I do not know as my Rolex 1665 great white that's just arrived is just such an amazing watch- shame I can't take a decent picture!!
: Hello dear folks,
: I take the opportunity to start Jeff's SCAN WEEKEND ...
: But ... I'm afraid to say, I am now NOT able to send a picture with
: it. :-/
: My 36 exp. film was not full yet, and then I finished the film with
: "black" pictures into the dark. ... Then, in the
: pharmacy, they said it would not be developed before Monday, so
: picking up the pictures would be too late for this. .... Too
: bad.
: No. ... In fact I simply can't upload or send any pics right now -
: even with the help of some of you (who've done it before).
: Awfully sorry my contribution is missing the
: "threesome-picture" ... and I sincerely apologize,
: Jeff ...
: here is what I came up with :
: IF ONE DAY THEY BURY ME
: IT'S UNDERNEATH A MANGO TREE ...
: DECISION WHAT TO KEEP WAS FREE:
: FAVORITE WATCHES - BUT JUST THREE !
: A REAL TOUGH QUESTION, MR. STEIN
: BUT HERE THEY ARE NOW,
: THESE ARE MINE :
: Heuer Carrera 3147 N ( dato 45 )
: Omega Speedmaster Professional ( Cal. 861 )
: Heuer Autavia GMT Cal. 11 ( early version, 1-12 dial )
: Again, I apologize for NOT adding a pic. However, fortunately,
: these watches are well known, and don't really need
: presentation.
: Now, fellow aficionados ...
: Go ahead ! Show your results, please !
: Best regards to ALL, especially to Jeff -
: have a good weekend,
: Cheers,
: Olaf
