Hi all (and greetings to Olaf in Cologne from me in Brühl!)
Number one is very easy. This Derek Bell was given to me many years ago for my 30th birthday. It was new, unworn in the box and had my name and date engraved on the back. Now I'm not a fan of engravings but this was given to me by my father-in-law, who has since died. This is the watch that got me on the watch tick thing! I have had dozens of watches since then and somehow always return to this one. It has recently been reunited with the corfam and sun buckle it came on! There's the family link of course, but this is, for me, Heuer. Everything else is a relative of this one. Not logical perhaps.
Next up is a Moonwatch Cal 861 on its original bracelet. Not truly vintage as it's from 1984 but I am the only one who has worn this classic watch. Perhaps the most recognized watch there is.
Third? Well I could live with just the two. Could be a Rolex GMT from 1968 but, no, I could live without that one if push came to shove. I don't think I need three. I realize that the honeymoon phase may wear off, but I love this recently acquired Monaco. Time will tell !
Best
Roger
