Excited Saturday morning - 2 pics

Craig once again exceeded my expectations - ahead of schedule, putting up with my questions, giving me excellent insurance advice, holding a signed crown for me. Overall great guy to deal with! Craig, the watch looks fantastic. I do one day hope to find an original profile crystal, but the one you used is an excellent compromise and much better than the yellowed and scratched non-original crystal that was already on it. Thank you!

So, the package arrived around 6:30 (18:30) while I was lighting the charcoal for a beef tenderloin I was preparing for a dinner party. Maria intercepted it and gift-wrapped it. When I bought this watch from my friend, it was agreed that it would be my 50th birthday gift including any service, parts, etc. (nice gift!!!). The dinner party was actually for my birthday as I will be working a tradeshow in Chicago on my actual birthdate. I didn't get to open it in time to take pics and get it on the WRUW thread, so it was my morning labor of love.

But first, I had to remove the DiModell rally strap and install the extremely cool new strap I most decidedly did not win from Heuerville. I would have won it had Stewart been able to summon up about 11% more force when he hammered those two straps for the contest. I must tell you that Stewart, too, is a great guy to deal with. We have traded a few emails, just a real pleasure. Stewart, I could not resist rubbing a little of my beeswax concoction on the strap, just a little.

My Cannon G9 camera should be sufficient to take better macro shots, but I don't know how to utilize its capabilities and welcome advice. I tried using the manual focus, but never really got better results. If I move away and zoom in, the auto focus seems to not be on the center of the frame, due to the angle of the offset of the sensor from the lens. I wonder if any of you have experience with the $20-30 "macro 10x" adapters for this camera. Would that help me?
