Almost every KAF shauntavia we have seen all come from the same dealer who has one contact in Kenya, I do not doubt their authenticity. However about 4 months ago that dealer informed me that he had 10 such pieces and asked if I would be interested in taking the whole lot off his hands, I thought about it and decided to pass, he did send me pictures though, all of the pieces were in very rough shape, none of them had new hands. I believe that what we are seeing now is those same pieces resurfacing in the hands of various dealers having been given new hands and other parts.

That's my hunch - I do not think it's fair to compare them to the Portuguese pieces.

Looking forward to hearing what others have to say.
