Actually, I bought it. I have been looking for one of these since last year and actually won one at the beginning of this year on eBay only to be told that the bezel wasn't original. It was Jeff who pointed this out on this forum at the time and a lot of the folks on this page thought that I had over paid (I agree and thank you to all those who knocked some sense into me). In the end, I agreed with the seller that I would pay a small undisclosed sum to "get out of the deal" since this would be one of the "bedrock" pieces in my collection and I really wanted to get it right! An expensive lesson to learn for a new heuer collector and I would urge all less experienced Heuer collectors to think very carefully before making any purchase than to let one's impulse dictate! Obvious but somehow I always seem to forget when I see a really nice watch!

Anyway, I have just wired the money (slightly more than US$3500 in case you are wondering) and I am waiting for the watch to arrive. Hope it lives up to all the hype! I know its expensive for a Heuer but just look at it ! I couldn't resist.... what was that I just said about impulse buying? Hmmm
