In Response To: Carrera Countdown: False Grail ()

...to join the party!

I love your photo, Shaun, and the way it captures the lightness of this dial. I share your view about these two registers dials being too often dismissed as poor version of their fancier cousins.

Just got mine out of the sock drawers. Not as pristine as yours, but it will stay with me over the snowy weekend.... Thanks for reminding us how cool these are.

Looking forward for your tomorrow's post!

Best,
Francesco

: For many Carrera enthusiasts, the grail of the 1960s manual Carrera
: is the 2447 SN, the so called "panda dial" Carrera,
: with black subregisters and a silver dial. This is the false
: grail, not nearly as sought after, but a similar silver/black
: dial configuration. I know this watch has a lesser movement than
: the valjoux 72 in the 2447 SN, but in terms of beauty of the
: dial, I prefer this one - the dial is a bit less busy and more
: elegant than the triple register...
