Beautiful Watch; New Gallery OnTheDash; Thanks!!
In Response To: Carrera Countdown: False Grail ()

Beautiful Carrera . . . yes, I have always liked the balance of the decimal minutes models, and the two register version is especially nice.

New Gallery added to OnTheDash, here -- http://www.onthedash.com/Guide/_Chronographs/63.Carrera/a.Manual_(1960s)/Carrera_30/Reference_7753_SND/

Calling this one the "SND" -- silver dial (S); black registers (N); decimal scale (D).

Thanks for posting this beautiful watch and for the entire countdown!!

Jeff

: For many Carrera enthusiasts, the grail of the 1960s manual Carrera
: is the 2447 SN, the so called "panda dial" Carrera,
: with black subregisters and a silver dial. This is the false
: grail, not nearly as sought after, but a similar silver/black
: dial configuration. I know this watch has a lesser movement than
: the valjoux 72 in the 2447 SN, but in terms of beauty of the
: dial, I prefer this one - the dial is a bit less busy and more
: elegant than the triple register...
