Re: Dark Lord Monaco
In Response To: Dark Lord Monaco ()

Ha! thanks Stewart, it is a thing of beauty.

I love the aged lume and hands.
Its also my favourite colour combination.

You're right, I'm not sure about selling, but that's the same with every watch I've ever sold :-)
I've been very close before and this one gets more interest and offers than any other watch I've had.
So, maybe its time to see what happens.

If I do sell there's also probably no chance I'd ever find another one so it is a very tough decision and one I'd likely regret either way.

Outside of special occasions I hardly ever wear it.
Don't get me wrong, I love to wear it - I'm just too scared of damaging it.
I cycle a lot, tinker with car engines and I'm regularly down the beach with the boys and my dog.
None of these situations lend themselves to wearing this watch.
In a way this Monaco has become a victim of its own success and I feel obliged to keep it in good order.
If it wasn't so rare I probably wouldn't hesitate about sticking it on and forgetting about it before doing all of the above :-)
It could be I'm being overcautious here though as going by the accumulated dirt and scratches/wear on the glass the previous owner thought differently.
(Incidentally, all of which cleaned very easily :-))

I also have to confess to not being a big fan of 'Dark Lord' title its picked up.
In reality it's a very light piece by today's standards and way more delicate than any PVD Autavia or the name implies.

Anyway, lets see what happens.
I've had a few good offers so far and I'll give it a few days before making a decision either way.

BTW, If the above hasn't put anyone else interested off, there's still time to get in touch.

Thanks for your input Stewart - much appreciated :-)
