I'm sure everyone would like to see how good a job the watchmaker did on the crystal and bezel replacement. I'd contact Craig at ChronoDeco for servicing of the movement. Craig has lots of experience with the Cal 11 and Cal 12 movements and has therefore earned a very fine reputation with several participants on this forum from servicing their watches. He is located in Oregon so not too close to you but I'll bet he can sort the movement issues out for you. He's a very fine watchmaker and I intend to send one of my vintage Breitlings to him this coming year for a movement service.

: After 6 months I finally have my watch back or what remains of it.
: In April of 2013 I was gifted a Autavia 11630 GMT from my
: father-in-law. He had worn it for many years and wore all the
: numbers off the bezel, scratched the crystal considerably, and
: the watch did not work. I joined the forum back then and began a
: search for ways to restore it. I read a few less than satisfied
: people who had sent their watches back to Tag Heuer in
: Switzerland so I began to search stateside for a repair shop. I
: read several nice reviews about WatchRepair.net in Florida. The
: business owner seemed polite, nice, and to me knowledgeable with
: lists and lists of happy testimonial of watches repaired that
: were much more valuable than mine. So I sent it off. Within a
: week I got an estimate for replacing crystal, bezel, and
: cleaning, lubricating, and repairing. Although my wife wanted me
: to keep the scratched crystal, and worn off bezel I gave the go
: ahead for replacement to look as the man said "like
: new". About 6 weeks later I received the watch back and it
: did indeed look brand new. Only trouble is it did not keep time
: for more than about 10 minutes then stopped. The repair shop
: said it was under warranty to return and he would make it right.
: What was ensued was 6 months of calls, promises, apologies, and
: explanations about how difficult it was to repair old watches.
: Finally a week ago I got the watch back. It does keep time. Stop
: watch works to some degree but the small hour clock will not
: return to zero when I try to reset with button 2. (I'm still
: looking for a proper manual to make sure I am doing it right).
: Minute clock resets fine. At this point I think I will enjoy
: what I have and wait awhile and find someone different and
: closer to Indiana before I attempt another repair. Not sure if
: it is even worth trying to do much to restore since I now have a
: new but not original bezel and crystal. Any advise from readers?
