There were already 2 offers as the buy it now price was $8,5k so IMHO there are 2 reasons for the price increase:

1, the offers were low balls and this is a trick to get a better price - just as Jeff has mentioned
2, the seller was not 100% clear what he has but later somehow figured out, that it's a grail watch

We'll see how it's going on...😀😀
