As we approach the end of 2013, we should begin looking back and thinking about the best experiences of 2013. Let's have a Scan Weekend with the theme, “Best of 2013”.

It was another fantastic year for our community. TAG Heuer celebrated the 50th Year of the Carrera, and our community celebrated with absolutely amazing Summit of approximately 30 collectors. We saw some amazing discoveries in the world of vintage Heuers, both in terms of the watches and the information. I believe that the community is stronger than ever right now, in terms of the number of collectors, their enthusiasm, and the contributions of information and assistance. We're on a roll, and adding new enthusiasts every day.

So let’s have a Scan Week to mark the very best of 2013. We will start on Friday, January 3, 2014, and run through Monday, January 6th. Think back through 2013 and share some photos or photos showing:

• your favorite watch acquisition of the year (whether a bargain or budget-buster), or a favorite strap or bracelet
• a project or restoration that turned out particularly well
• a box, carrying case, winder or other accessory that you are enjoying
• a catalog, magazine or other printed piece that you would like to share
• a book that you enjoyed, whether old or newly-discovered, about watches, cars or anything else
• a new blog or website that you discovered (or maybe even your favorite article or posting from 2013)
• a new social media channel that proved to be interesting
• a new dealer or watchmaker that you enjoyed
• a get-together or meeting with other enthusiasts
• a new discovery from Heuer’s history
• a new camera, accessory, photo set-up or piece of software that you enjoyed

We will start on Friday, January 3rd and and run through Monday, January 6th; as always, we are flexible, so you can also post a little early or late, at your convenience. Use the Subject line "Best of 2013", if you are so inclined. As always, you should feel free to go off-topic, and show us any memorable event from 2012 . . . family, pet, vacation, birthday, anniversary, car, video, guitar, etc.

So get out your camera, open the watch box, search your hard-drive and share whatever made 2013 a great year for you.
