Eric's List of "Poor Man's" Heuers

In his Hodinkee posting on the Kingon Autavia, Eric gives us an interesting list of some companies for which Heuer produced chronographs:

  • Aristo,
  • Baylor,
  • Dugena,
  • Zodiac,
  • Tradition / Sears,
  • Junghans,
  • Clebar,
  • Hamilton,
  • LeJour
Of course, we now add Kingon to this list.

We know the story of most of the brands that Eric mentioned; the Junghans came as a surprise to me. This made me wonder about other "Poor Man's" brands that we might add to this list? Villard, Primato, Tourneau, etc. It might be fun to try to develop a complete list of the other brands that bought chronographs from Heuer. Abercrombie and Orvis would also be on this list, although these were probably not marketed to the "poor men" of the world.

Any suggestions to add to the list? Of course, we are looking for the brands that were actually made by Heuer, not the look-alikes that knocked-off the look of the Heuers.

Jeff
