I believe came here for the first time a little over a year ago...maybe close to two years...who cares? Before then my addiction only included pocket watches. I bought and sold wrist watches because there was money in it, but I never would have had a wristie in my top 3. Now I am not so sure about that.

Before I came here I always viewed wrist watch collectors as a separate set of collectors and not necessarily a set I wanted to be a part of. The wrist watch forums I had visited led me to believe that wristy collectors were basically jewelry people who were much more interested in commerce than history and technology. Having come here my eyes have opened and my horizons have broadened. I have been exposed to the most civilized and classy group of collectors I have ever seen. I have met a group of wrist watch collectors who are just as interested in the things that keep me interested in pocket watches.

So thanks Jeff Stein, and thanks to all of the rest of the fine OTD members who have helped me overcome my prejudices and open my mind. Thanks for helping me know enough to be dangerous. Thanks I guess....now I have a bigger addiction and will probably have to have a bigger bank box.

Speaking of collections and bank boxes, I am on my way back to the bank to put away some watches I have been photographing for the second edition of a talk I am giving on Collecting. My audience will not be as open minded as I have become so the talk still features only pocket watches. Here is a watch porn picture of the little sample which is on the way back to the bank.
