We enjoyed a weekend in Minneapolis, but left yesterday, when it was -16 F. It got colder today, as shown below.
I must imagine that this is no big deal for some of our readers in Northern Europe / Scandinavia. Would be interesting to see their current street views.

: Here in the middle of the US we finally got the Snowpocalypse that
: the weather prognosticators have been causing a panic over every
: week since before Christmas. It is -14 f or -25 c at mid-day in
: the sun. There is about 15 inches or 38 cm of very heavy snow on
: the ground, although no longer on my driveway. Our electricity
: has been out of service for 24 hours and it probably won't be
: restored for another 24-48 hours. The water in the house is
: turned off so the pipes won't burst. Our hotel is warm...the dog
: and the cats are safe. All is good in the world.
