Personally I don't see it impacting the collecting of best and rarest vintage watches, because they have more or less become "fine art". It's like saying would smart cars/cheap volume cars effect the value of the best vintage cars...no. People will all own or try a smart watch going forward i'm sure, perhaps some wearing for specific sport or medical reasons. Geeks and younger people will perhaps wear these full time.

However I do see it changing the selling of modern watches to a substantial degree, especially so at the low to mid end, I'm sure Apple will make it happen. I invest in several companies who are involved in the future tech in this IOT area, the "internet of things", will be huge.
