Re: Long live vinyl
In Response To: Re: Long live vinyl ()

Absolutely, Nathan!
I'm right there, with you!!

Thanks for mentioning those Penguin paperbacks, btw. :-)
Made me remember I used to read (though I'm German, and living in Germany) ALL my beloved Ian Fleming's James Bond as orig. paperbacks, in English, i.e., (most of them bought 'used' for a quarter or two, more than 30 years ago, back when I lived in beautiful Arizona for a while) ... Nice memories.
( No, no Kindle here ;-) ..... )
And, SURE, if I wanna listen to some Bob Marley (Island Records) or some good ol' Folk Blues like 'Lost my job', or even some Frank Sinatra, Ella Fiitzgerald, or Sam Cooke etc. etc. , I will use my records on a record player ... connected to my Nordmende Radio (TOP German model back in the sixties, with tubes, of course, and even Stereo!, and a wonderful ol' sound) ....
And ... if I may mention ... I still enjoy playing my ROCK-OLA Princess ... Juke box from 1962 .... :-)
A1, btw, is ... "Kissing in the back row" ;-)
But, of course, it does play Chuck Berry and "You never can tell" or "Rock'n'Roll Music" too ... and plenty goodies more.
Fast R'n'R, sure! :-) , ... but "Sea of heartbreak" and Sinatra's "NICE AND EASY" too .....

Cheers Nathan,
and to ALL others among us thinking alike :-)

Olaf
