OK, Got the Instagram Going, Now What?

OK, I've gotten the Instagram going, over the last couple of days, with a few images posted here -- http://instagram.com/on_the_dash

It's definitely quick, and fun to move from the realistic images to more impressionistic ones, but I'm still not sure that I am "getting it". For watches, the Instagram community seems like simple show and tell, which has some merit and can be fun.

So let's get the thread going re Instagram:

  • Why do you use it?
  • Have you enjoyed it?
  • Can it be worthwhile for members of our community / watch collectors?
  • What smart phone / camera are you using?
  • Any recommendations for the newbies?
I know that we have covered some of these points previously -- http://chronocentric.com/forums/heuer/index.cgi?page=1;md=read;id=67524 -- but let's see what we can assemble in this thread.

And if anyone is interested, you can pick through the 11 images that I have posted and see that (a) the earliest photo (December 2013) was taken with my daughter's cheapie LG smart phone, (b) next came the Samsung Galaxy Camera EK-GC 100 (December 6 and 7), and (c) latest photos (January 8) were with my wife's iPhone 5C. Most of the photos were shot in the dark of night, with the light coming from a single 100 watt bulb . . . which is the baseline situation. It can only get better from here, right? The Samsung Galaxy Camera probably gets the early nod as a good camera for Instagram, at least for the non-iGuy.
