Yes. If you ask me, all these nicknames add some aura and desirability ("make am impression") that has nothing to do with the intrinsic value of a watch.
To me watches are watches. Some are more rare, more complicated or more beautiful (subjectively) than the others and that's it.
I think we are too old to be impressed or influenced in our judgments of a watch, by the fact that a star wore a similar model (most of the times because a sponsor asked him to do so).
So, I see no point in using nicknames. But this is just me.
