Re: Citizen Campanola Movement (High-End Quartz)

This is the main reason I just can't bring myself to be enthusiastic about quartz watches. My love affair with chronographs comes from my enthusiasm for automobile racing, and in turn the cars that result from a marque's racing engineering. As such, the raw mechanicality of a manual-wind or automatic movement appeals to me the same way that a pressurized-nitrogen aluminum spaceframe does. Further, living in New York means owning a car is very difficult, to say nothing of being able to fully enjoy it. So, wearing an early Carrera is like my analog, my daily connection to that other famous model that shares its name (don't call it a substitute! Ha). A quartz movement just doesn't have the same soul; they just don't provide the same experience, the same connection for me. Which is not at all to disparage enthusiasts of quartz watches - we all approach our enthusiasm from different angles.
