At Last -- Dial Made of 40,000 Year-Old Mammoth Tusk
In Response To: Glad someone agrees with me. ()

Another watch that needed to be made -- Piaget Altiplano Scrimshaw . . . according to Hodinkee, the dial is made from "fossilized mammoth ivory that is then engraved with a map of the Eastern Hemisphere using traditional scrimshaw techniques" . . . priced at approximately 50,000 CHF.

There's a lot of money in the world right now, and the watch brands are doing everything in their power to attract some of it.

Photo below is courtesy of Hodinkee; Hodinkee review of the watch is here.
