A few questions for the group, regarding this Porsche Design, by Orfina, powered by the Valjoux 7750 movement:
-- Was this model the first black PVD coated chronograph? I believe that the Orfina 7750 was first, and that we saw the "Orfina" above the windows before the PD logo appeared, but can someone confirm this?
-- What did Porscge Design call this model? Is this the Chronograph 1?
-- Were there other black PVD watches, before we saw the first black PVD chronograph?
-- What is the favorite name for this style of case? I have heard it called "military", but wonder whether there is some preferred nickname for this style of case? Of course, we see Heuer using this type of case for the Pasadena, and it was used by many other brands in the 1970s.
Here is a thread discussing the early PD chronos -- http://forums.watchuseek.com/f11/identification-porsche-design-chronograph-pics-inside-663786.html Can readers recommend other resources?
Sorry for the fuzzy photo / reflections . . . taken in the car on the morning commute, with a couple of effects added before posting on Instagram.
