My Guess -- Carrera (Barrel) and Montreal (Cal 12)

My guess -- and it's nothing more than that -- is that Heuer began selling PVD-coated cases with the barrel-shaped Carrera and perhaps the Montreal, around 1977 . . . which would have coincided with the introduction of the Monza. Master Reference Table suggests that this Carrera may have been offered in 1974, but perhaps Heuer launched its line of PVD-coated cases, all at once, in 1977 -- Carrera, Montreal and Monza. All were current steel cases, coated in the black material.

"Military" style cases came later -- Pasadena, Ref 12 and Ref 13-1.

It sure would be nice to have some serial numbers from these early PVD guys!!
