How whacky is Oxford Time?

Oxford is 1degree15'24'' West of GMT.
At 09.05pm, local time, every evening, Great Tom, Christ Church College's Bell rings out 101 times, to warn each of it's 101 original students to return before the gates close for the night.
It then remains silent until 8am, next day, then striking on the hour until 9pm.
