I was wondering when someone would mention the tractors ..... ;-)
Yes, many of us will know about that. And, yes, there certainly IS a major difference between "Enzo's" and "Ferruccio's" ...
but, to be fair and objective ... may I mention btw that Herr Porsche had built tractors too (though I'm aware it was not with the same importance for the company as for Signore Lamborghini. Another subject though, let's forget it.)
Back to the Italian Design ...
I understand John's point well, though I didn't consider myself a Ferrari-monogamist.
Yes, sure I preferred more Ferrari over the Lamborghini, but not as rigid.
I saw this more objective, and keeping in mind, never forgetting, e.g. the beauty of a Ghibli .... as we know, from another big traditional Italian name .... Maserati. Or Lancia, Alfa, and a few.
About the Miura, one of my favorites in childhood days ... I feel the urge to comment to Stewart's post :
ABSOLAMBOLUTELY !
After seeing the first one "in the metal" and from very close, sitting in front it and enjoying every angle for what seemed like ever, many years ago, I just MUST say that this is just an amaaazing design.
Yet, as Mark already mentioned ... :-) ... two others of the era came into my mind as well, immediately :
The 365 GT/B (as we know nicknamed Daytona) and the other great "eye catcher", the BB.
( I've sat in one of those BB .... ;-))) Rrrrrrrrrrr! )
The rivalry between Ferrari and Lamborghini could take days and days to discuss .... No need.
Let's just enjoy thinking about the beauties of those days, of that wonderful era.
I, myself .... d*mnit .... so often feel I was just born a few years too late ('66, i.e.) ... For good music as well as for cars and design ....
Thank you, gentlemen - fellow car lovers
Have a great day, wherever you are
Cheers,
Olaf
