Re: Marine Chronometer...I love it

I am a huge fanboy of the whole idea and history of the Marine Chronometer...so, although my motto is that "real watches are powered by springs" I really like your watch and would also love to know its history.

I do know that the Marine Chronometer has a very interesting history starting in England with Harrison and the Longitude Prize. Since we are on the subject here is a link to a gallery of photos I was privileged to be able to take of another very scarce British Marine Chronometer. The escapement of this ultra precision instrument is a rare Dent invention called the Staple. A friend of mine bought this at a local flea market about 30 years ago for $50.00. I would love to know how this beautiful timepiece made it from Dent to a Japanese WW-II warship to a country flea market in Bargersville Indiana, USA.
