As I sat watching Rush this afternoon and continued my count down to the F1 season opener in Australia next weekend I uploaded a few pictures and thought I would share the link here:

1978 was a significant USGP for me, as it was my first...at the age of 18 months. I obviously have no memories of being there, other than what stories and photos my family share with me. My oldest brother was starting his last year of university in '78, and as my parents lived very close to the grand prix circuit, a few of his friends stayed the weekend to attend the race and cover the story for the school magazine. As trade my father was given a copy of The Reporter and a few original copies of the photos taken.

We lost our grand prix weekends in Watkins Glen after 1980, but many of the memories live on through countless stories like this one with the local families that call the area home. If anyone finds themselves in Watkins Glen and has an interest in the racing history of the town I strongly encourage you to visit the museum and racing research center:
