: Nice to see these older ones from time to time, especially when
: brought back from the edge.
: Looks nice - I get that the dial had already been redone and that
: that made the decision easier, but if it were mine I'd still be
: on the lookout for an original dial. Not something you're going
: to stumble across every day but I have seen an occasional 30s
: and 40s dial for sale. Happy to keep an eye out for you.
Mark, Thanks for the welcome, the compliment on the watch and for the offer to keep an eye out for a dial. I have looked but to no avail. The dial on this was so poorly done. It almost looked like it was hand painted, sub-registers were off center and off scale and no logo. Deplorable really, but I knew that going in, and knew it would lbe a good candidate to try and get back into "fighting" shape. Richard Awiza from RA Time did a really nice job with the restoration and it's a fun watch to wear now....almost looks NOS. Love this style with the oversized sub-registers from the 40's. I'll try and find some "before" pics. At any rate, yes please do keep me in mind should you see a vintage black dial!!! If I update post with more pics I'll let you know. Thanks again for your kind words. Jeff
