Interesting discovery and as you have linked to an old post of mine, a detail I also found to be of interest. I'm not sure what to attribute these small differences to and it will require more information that should include the case numbers and serial numbers. Only then will we be in a better position to determine which is earlier and how extensively each case was used. I prepared the image below of some of the examples that are or have been in my collection.
