Re: simply put - NO

Hi Jeff

Is a Heuer Autavia (manual wind) 73363 or 73463 in Siffert colors considered to be a collectable "SIFFERT"

Collectable yes, “Siffert” no – is the simple answer.

Your questions on the name is an extension on the earlier post about the Orange Boy and in the past, these discussions included the "Derek Bell" so it's not a new phenomena and remains a muddy subject. I don’t plan to stick my neck out and define a "Siffert" Autavia but in general terms it refers to an automatic 1163 Autavia with white dial and black registers (all of 5 or 6 executions) and no orange bits either.

This is not a new problem and one found across the watch world when a particular reference gets a name. The Rolex Daytona Paul Newman springs to mind.
Regardless, the white dial black register Autavia always seem to get a premium over the reverse colour scheme. This is the "Panda" effect. More often than not this dial combination is the one that is most sought after and the one to have if the reverse was also an option. Consequently, it comes at a price premium over the reverse Panda.

As to price, this for me is an even muddier subject. With such low volume of sales of most of the desirable references who can possibly keep track of what the market will bare.

Hope that helps
Regards
Paul
