I think you may be confusing the difference between Schmitz & Piquerez cases as the same as my statement of 'the Siffert had a deeper/thicker case'...
Yes, if you read up on the difference between Schmitz & Piquerez cases, you'll see that one has a deeper case back, and changes to the pusher cut-outs. This is not what I mean when I say the Siffert had a thicker case... The lug height of a Siffert case (and Orange Boy, and 1563 marked cases) are thicker/taller to that of the 'viceroy' models.
As for serial no's.. I can't offer much insight as I don't have that data at hand.
