complications preferred; is the movement original?
In Response To: Both look ok Danielle ()

Thank Mark!
I'm leaning toward the sportier and complicated version. i do see on the OTD chronographs reference page, that these two look closest to Amran's example:
- http://onthedash.com/Guide/_Chronographs/1940s_Chronographs/Reference_345/

but neither have the blue accents

Additionally, the movements from the 40s references on OTD don't have the same signatures:

The most similar movement I can find on OTD is from the 50s, but the dial design is so different:
http://onthedash.com/Guide/_Chronographs/40s_50s_Triple_Calendar_Chrono/Reference_2558/Reference_2558/?show=180Ref2558.jpg

Would you (or others) have any concern about these discrepancies? Perhaps they started adding the full name "Ed Heuer" to the movement and the blue accents in the late 40s and I just don't have the right reference for comparison.

: One is gold, the other complicated (each additional function of a
: watch is called a "complication" - this one has a
: perpetual calendar as well as the chronograph). Both will retain
: value and may well appreciate - we have seen significant
: increases in both gold and the value of vintage Heuers in the
: last 10 years.

: It really comes down to your partner's preferences - does he like
: more buttons to press, or classical gold? A dressy watch, or one
: in everyday steel?
