: Definitely rare - I don't recall the one with orange-edged hands
: Paul, all the other ones I have seen have had these hands.
: The first one I ever saw was panned here on the forum, but I had
: seen the potential - unfortunately the seller saw the panning
: and took the watch down from eBay, and that seemed to be the end
: of that watch. I'd wager it was made into a fairly bog standard
: 1153 S but I was planning on sneaking it with a late bid. Ah
: well.
: Seen about one a year since. I'd still like to find this and the BN
: in a catalogue somewhere. I have a hunch they were regionally
: restricted, we don't see them from all over.
Well done Lanny, another fine catch. What a year you are having !!!!!!
The dial & hands are very complementary.
I recall the Carrera mentioned above by Mark discussed on the forum ( it was a long time ago - perhaps we can find that thread ) . I also recall many were very quick to dismiss it as a ( franken, redial or reclaimed Autavia dial).
From my memory that auction described it as a 110.253 model not an 1153.
Anyway , great to see another model recognised on On The Dash.
Cheers - Darren
