I'm late to the party, but want to congratulate you on finding this amazing pair of Carreras and also thank you for sharing the story and the photos.
These are great looking Carreras . . . they just look "right" in this configuration.

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
: As a few you have seen - I managed to pic up a very rare variant of
: the 1153 automatic Carrera a few weeks back.
: Apparently only a few of the 1153SN's have been seen in the wild -
: we have all seen the still very rare but slightly more common
: 1153BN. I've been after a good BN for a while and after picking
: up the SN I decided to be a bit more proactive.
: This one arrived on Thursday and I really wanted to get a few
: photo's up with the two side by side.
: The SN and BN never appeared in any catalog. Maybe they were
: prototype models that never got launched into full production -
: all I know is that they have great aesthetic appeal much like
: the cal. 15 exotic.
: Who knows maybe in a few years they will refer to these as the
: Carrera 1153 Exotics - (I know - I see the eyeballs rolling)
: Anyway - I thought I'd share a few pics.
