Re: Flyback COSC
In Response To: Re: Flyback COSC ()

The COSC certification does not mean anyting to me, I was just wondering why some watches were certified and others were not...

My day job in front of a PC sadly dosen't demand a high precision chronometer. Allthough I do remember telling a lot of girls when I was 18-19 year old in various clubs late at night that I was aspiring to be a fighter pilot - it actually worked with a few of them !

My reasons for chosing this watch (if I am lucky enough to get it !) - is simply that I am intrigued by mechanics in general - and especially craftsmanshift at the highest level! - , and that this possibly is the best looking watch I remember ever having seen. That's it.

I know I am in a vintage Heuer site, and thus a bit off topic here so thanks for the feed-back guys! Maybe I'll get around to collecting a vintage Heuer one day- the more I read and see these historic Heuer products I get your passions. Beautiful, beautiful stuff. Will surely contact this forum again for advise when that day comes !

Best regards
Jacob

: The COSC does not make a watch accurate or more accurate. It is
: only a certification of how a sample of watches submitted by a
: company performed. It does not mean that an non-certified
: necessarily watch performs better or worse. It is something a
: company can choose to pay for or not.

: As was said, if your job requires a COSC certified watch then I
: guess it should matter. I do not know of any job which requires
: such a thing these days since we all have much more accurate
: time keeping devices in our phones.
