Hi Jeff,
Long time reader of the site, with only a few postings to my name, but just thought id respond to let you know I've just finalised an agreement with the seller to purchase this watch
I was bidding on it originally, however the $9k sale price was out of my league, and I think I ended up being 2nd or 3rd highest
so when it came back on the bay I contacted the seller and got to chatting about it
the previous winner was non contactable and hence the sale fell through
so I enquired where the $11k buy it now price had come from etc
basically, the seller knew nothing about the watch originally and wasn't expecting so much interest
anyways, long story short I discussed what they really wanted for the watch, considering the previous sale price of $9k had fallen through and I wasn't offering that much
in the end came to an agreement which I am quite happy with
this watch to me has been my holy grail search, and as you know they don't come up too often
obviously needs a new crystal, and yes something strange on the dial so keen to see that up close, but overall really happy to have landed this watch after searching for the past 3 years for one
and love the engraving on the back of the case as well
will match my recently acquired triple date chronograph with Valjoux 72c nicely
will keep you updated and let you know more about the dial when it arrives
Andy.
