My father and I were fortunate enough to sit next to him during an evening meal that weekend- can't say I looked to see what watch he was wearing, but seemed a throughly nice gentleman- though he couldn't quite get his head round the fact we were having beef bourgignon when in Monaco- we had spent the day driving down from Calais eating pasties so just wanted something sensible to eat!!
