Paolo:
I believe that we have now seen three of these in the community (unless you have purchased this one from someone who recently sent me some photos)!!
Whether two or three, they are fantastic watches . . . the real watches that the racers wore.
Send me a note, and we will construct an informal count of these great watches!! I believe that they are from the period prior to the Viceroy promotion (so I have been calling them the pre-Viceroys).
Best,
Jeff

: I had the chance to buy from a friend this Autavia, it was on ebay
: last June and and sold in half an hour as it was an underpriced
: buy-it-now.
: It's not a 1163V, but a regular 1163 in V style, the seller
: advertised it as
: "one of a group given to the 1970-1971 USAC VELS Racing
: team, by Parnelli Jones who was one of the team owners.
: I believe the season was won by Mario Andretti, driving a VPJ-4
: (VPJ stood for Vels Parnelli Jones)
: I acquired this watch many years ago from the daughter of a
: gentleman who was an engine builder for the VELS team."
: So this is the second of these Viceroys given to the racing team to
: enter the OTD family,
: and here are the pictures that i'm proud to
: share:
