A few weeks ago, Jason Heaton had in interesting posting on Gear Patrol, called “Building the Hypothetical “Perfect” Watch”. Jason considered his favorite watches, to select the favorite dial (AP Royal Oak Offshore Diver), favorite Hands (Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra Master Co-Axial), favorite crown (Rolex Triplock), etc.
Mercifully, Jason did not use PhotoShop to put all the elements together, to actually show us this perfect watch.
This idea of selecting “favorite elements” seems like an interesting concept for a scan day (or a scan weekend). So here’s the question: What is your favorite element (or some small number of elements) from the world of vintage Heuers (or other brands)? You can show us a whole component (case / dial / hands) or one particular element (numerals, markers, paint, tips of the hands, pushers, etc.)
To inspire your postings, shown below are photos showing some of my favorite elements, along with a couple of watches in which someone has combined some favorite elements.
Let’s hope for some interesting postings, starting next Friday, the 28th.
