Looking back at the year that passed, I guess I will have to deviate from the normal watch acquisitions. I did not go as crazy with vintage Heuers in 2014 compared to the previous years except for a Carrera 2447T.
In fact, I've had to let go of some to make room for a few pieces with the normal seller's remorse feeling (Autavia KAF and 11630P and GMT) after, like this
I did land a nice straight hand Explorer Mk1 early this year and a few other pieces
But my crown jewel for this year would have to be this: my own watch room. Inconspicuously hidden in my library is a tiny watch room to house my collection. I used to have the watchcases stacked against each other.
Here are some pics of the library:
And here's the door leading to the watch room.
And the watch room
That's a Heuer clock right in the middle
Watch parts
Reading materials and watch reference
Auction catalogues from the early 2000
And finally the watches that are housed in this room
Heuers
Omega
Speedmasters
Seamasters and Flightmasters
Rolex
Seikos
A pretty good brand mix: Zenith A386, De Luca, Bulova Marine Star to name a few
The Valjoux 72 and Universal Geneve Box
If you've gotten this far, I guess this is a Best of 2014 and SOTC combined. Thank you for patience.
More power to everyone this 2015. May all your watch dreams come true...
