Re: The power of Hodinkee
In Response To: The power of Hodinkee ()

Thanks, Jarl! I am glad it sold and I know at least one individual who was just minutes late and very depressed he did not get it.

I just looked at the article and came up with this brief summary:

http://www.hodinkee.com/blog/whats-selling-where-from-a-patek-philippe-5004a-on-ebay-to-a-sub-200-watch-from-a-new-dealer

Heuer 351 C/T from the 1930s sold within the hour for $2,000
Patek 5004A I believe this sold off-eBay (asking price was $399,000)
Vacheron 4301 sold on eBay for around $4,000
Longines Czech enamel dial sold for $3,495
Longines Czech Metal Dial sold for $3,095
Technos sold that day for $925
Glycine NOS sold for $4,200 within a few minutes
IWC sold that day for $2,800

Vacheron 4537 is coming up for auction

Not sure about the Longines umbrella pusher chronograph

I think the only watch that definitely didn't sell was the $160 Arctos

Oh, and the fake McQueen-Evel Monaco was pulled from eBay - another win!
