Forty years ago a guy put a checkbox on his order form from a catalgue. Maybe he even wrote a letter asking if the option was available as he had a Decimal ring on his previous handwound watch that came in handy from time to time.
Sure no problem. Probably no extra charge.
Now we yell "discovery".
Which indeed it is as you and I can't remember ever having seen or noticed it, but it just can't be unique, can it? These things were produced in batches and must have been available thru normal spare parts channels.
How we would love to get our hands on those spares books Probably 1 set left in CdF... we have to settle for a few scanned catalogs and ads.
