Rolex Guys Moving Into Heuers
In Response To: Nice interview. ()

It's difficult to explain exactly how, when and why all this started, but the number of Rolex / Breitling / Omega guys who have gotten interested in the Heuers has been amazing. I should have kept a chart, month-by-month over the last ten years, counting the email messages and forum postings we have seen, to the effect, "I am a long-time Rolex collector, and [have recently bought / would like to find] a couple of Heuers."

Whether it's sticker shock at the prevailing prices of the Rolexes, or bargain hunting / bottom fishing in the Heuers, it has happened.

I suspect that this same type of trend has affected other categories of collectibles -- art, cars, wine, etc. There's a lot of money in the world right now, and a lot of the people who have it want to buy things . . . various categories of things, but a lot of things.

: Jeff, the 10p10 horological minute is my every Friday read and I
: really enjoy it. I was a little surprised to see you there,
: cause usually it is very RLX content based. The remarkable
: sentence for me was : " We don’t want the 100 wealthy
: Rolex guys chasing the 10 old Heuers!! ". But I think it's
: to late. Due to heavy promotion the Heuers already hit the
: limelight and got into focus.

: Kind regards,
: Manuel
