I was just kidding about most of the Rolex guys, but once upon a time I posted a message on the Vintage Rolex Forum, comparing a second execution screw-back Autavia with a Daytona, and several of the folks on the forum wanted to burn me at the stake. They insisted that the only chronographs that might even be compared to the Daytonas were the Tudors, and then someone went through element of the Tudors and tried to point out the similarities with the Rolexes. Perhaps he needed new glasses, but it seemed clear to me that the Autavia was a much more comparable watch.
Oh well . . . after that encounter, I have shied away from these comparisons, at least on the Rolex forums!!
