I think we can't blame the seller, as long as he doesn't know better and deliberately hides the fact that it's a TAG Heuer:
As far as I know, on those Re-Edition Carreras there is no "TAG" visible, except for the paperwork. If the watch comes without papers, which appears to be the case here, he wouldn't know, as long as he does not have any deeper knowledge about those watches.
And let's not forget, even the re-editions are 20 years old by now, so they are starting to become "vintage" :-)
