Thinking out loud (& I'm not a watchmaker)... The 24-hour mechanism in the c.14 (and for that matter the Valjoux 72) has nothing really to do with the chronograph portion of the mechanism... All the GMT hand is, is a second hand likely driven off of the regular hour hand geared to rotate half as often (once every 24 hours instead of every 12) and syncronized with the hour hand.

It'd be hard for me to imagine any impact it would have on the chronograph portion of the watch.
