I managed to buy this 1158 in Paris a few months ago and finally got it back from the watchmaker last week. We agreed not to polish it at all but just clean the case and minimally polish the original crystal while giving the movement a bath. I don't think this case has ever had a machine polish because the gold hallmarks on the body and the case back are deep and perfect. It still has a bit of the original vertical brushed finish on the top and a fair amount on the sides and the edges are still pretty sharp. I just could not make myself have it refinished.

Anyway, now it runs like a champ and with its new black rally strap it looks and feels great on my wrist. Now all I need is the Ferrari to go with it.
