congratulations! you give us all hope that regardless of how weak the dollar might get, or how many people might be watching on ebay, there still remains the chance of the "miracle find".
Thanks for the message and the photos.

so did you pay the $2.00 for the Autavia, or see whether she might settle for $1.75?? I have heard a couple of these types of stories, in the $50 to $75 range, but $2.00? That is truly amazing.
: First of all, I must say I only found this
: forum today and from the posters (and Chuck
: Maddox) and other sources I have found a
: wealth of knowledge on my most recent Heuer
: purchase...
: Regarding my subject line, that's correct... I
: was out garage saleing (Tag saleing, estate
: saleing, whatever you call it) and came
: across a box full of old watches... After
: digging for a few seconds I found a larger
: chrono (could only tell by the pushers, the
: crystal was covered with goo and grime) and
: proceeded to clean the crystal enough to see
: what make it was... Heuer Autavia... Now I
: have had several TAG Heuer (6000's) in the
: past and know the brand fairly well, well
: enough to know that an automatic chronograph
: made by Heuer was certainly something I
: would be interested in... After cleaning it
: a bit and checking as well I could to make
: sure it wasn't a bad fake, I asked how
: much... "$2.00 for that one, $1.00 for
: the others" - HAHA!!! - I could barely
: contain my excitement as I pulled out my
: money and paid the nice lady...
: I knew I had found a GREAT deal (at that point
: I didn't know if it worked, or really
: anything about it) and it was only after
: digging around the internet (here and
: "on the dash") that I realized I
: had a 1163V in GREAT condition!!! I've
: cleaned it up, taken if off the terrible
: aftermarket bracelet it was on and matted it
: to a black strap with white stitching (to
: match the dial and sub-dials) and LOVE this
: watch!!!
: Thanks again to Chuck Maddox and all the
: posters here...
