Help For the Newb - Autavia 2446c GMT MKIII

Hey all,

Before the watch gets serviced I wanted to be sure to pop the case back off and get a look at the movement. I was very careful and bought specific tools and a case press which I ended up not needing. It looks like my grandfather tryed to get the case off and nicked it in a few places. Anyway I have a few questions. I have attached a few photos:

1. The case back looks like it has some hand carving in it. can anyone explain this for me?
2. What movement is this? I am not the expert that you all are.
