I beleive Jeff's points are very relative but i would like to add a qualifying factor.
I think collectors have learnt with Monaco's that the condition ( particularly the dial ) is critical. We are all aware of the naked dial photos reqired for a sale or purchase now as the famed seal melt is not something collectors want to live with long term.
This 74033 is a desirable model ( well at least in my eyes ) but i wouldn't risk a purchase on a watch that hints at ( or in this case promises ) seal melt & dial damage.
In terms of what the Heuer market is hot for it would definately seem that the Monaco was the first model to ride the elevator in terms of both price & popularity. Then we saw ( are seeing ) the early Autavia market receiving focus. But my overall feeling is that the 1st generation Carrera is the hot market now, particularly if it has a first execution dial.
We also see a lot of focus on the 1945-61 models now, much more so than we saw say 5 years ago.

: Putting aside any concerns about the condition of the dial, it
: seems to me that the market for the Monacos has gone a bit soft
: lately. Perhaps we are seeing some weaker samples being offered;
: but it seems to me that Monaco prices have been flat or gone
: done, across the board (blue or gray; automatic or manual).
: Three to five years ago, bidders would have been bumping into each
: other, rushing to bid over $10,000 for this one. With the ascent
: of some Autavias and Carreras, the decline of the Monacos seems
: more notable.
: Others -- please correct me, if I am wrong on this.
